Adaptive radiation-focusing systems with a local optical feedback circuit
Abstract
A novel method for implementing phase control in adaptive-optical systems is discussed which makes it possible to substantially relax the radiation-resistance requirement of the controllable mirrors. Standard adaptive techniques can be used to control the phase of intense light beams. A layer with Kerr-type nonlinearity is used to modulate the phase of the intense optical field. The controllable mirror is situated in the feedback circuit of a passive ring resonator.
