A Generalization of the Singularity Theorem of Hawking & Penrose to Space-Times with Causality Violations

I prove a generalization of the singularity theorem of Hawking & Penrose. The generalization is (as far as I am aware) the only one that preserves the original idea of this theorem. By quoting an example of Newman I show that the generalization is unlikely to be improved.
