Turbulent mixing in nonreacting and reacting flows: A PDF approach at the twopoint level
Abstract
The evolution of the twopoint scalar probability density function (PDF) in a stationary isotropic turbulent velocity field is numerically studied using the FCT (FluxCorrectedTransport) algorithm. The model employs the LMSE (leastmeansquare minimization of an error function) closure for molecular diffusion and the EDQNM (eddydamped quasinormal Markovian) analogy for turbulent convection.
