Inhomogeneities of the thermal properties and reflectivity of the PHOBOS surface
Abstract
Results of IR radiometry and spectrophotometry of the Phobos surface obtained from Phobos-2 with a resolution of 1/20-1/40th of the mean diameter of Phobos are presented, and it is shown that the surface of Phobos is inhomogeneous with respect to thermal properties and spectral reflectivity. It is suggested that this constitutes evidence of inhomogeneities in the structure and composition of the primordial bodies in the solar system.
