The Richardson Criterion for Relativistic Swirling Flows
Abstract
The stability of a special relativistic non-dissipative swirling flow against adiabatic infinitesimal disturbances is studied using a projective transformation. We obtain a sufficient condition for stability, a generalized ``Richardson criterion,'' which is a generalization of D. P. Lalas' results (1975; {J. Fluid Mech}., 69, 65) to a relativistic regime.
