A landauginzburg equation for a highgain free electron laser
Abstract
We show that the steadystate regime of a highgain singlepass FEL can be described by a LandauGinzburg equation with complex coefficients. This provides the simplest analytically solvable model of the approach to saturation for the field amplitude and phase and is formally identical to that of an atomic laser.
