Nonreciprocity in traveling-acoustic-wave acoustooptic modulators
Abstract
The method of successive approximations is used to calculate the amplitude and phase nonreciprocities of acoustooptic modulators with traveling ultrasonic waves as a function of the light incidence angle for an arbitrary size of the interaction region. Modulator parameters are determined which are optimal from the viewpoint of eliminating the phase nonreciprocity. A method for producing a substantial increase in the phase and amplitude nonreciprocity under acoustooptic interaction is also presented.
