A Realistic Model Structure of Frank-Kasper-Type Icosahedral Quasicrystals
Abstract
We have constructed a model structure of Frank-Kasper-type icosahedral quasicrystals based on the 3-D Penrose lattice which is decorated according to Henley and Elser (Philos. Mag. B53 (1986) L59), and relaxed by interatomic potentials. Calculated (partial) pair correlation functions of the model agree well with the experimental ones in literature.
