Validation of splitting schemes for multidimensional equations of gas dynamics
Abstract
Splitting schemes are generally formulated using the weak approximation method, whose theoretical basis is an approximation theorem on the convergence of a series of solutions to an exact solution. Here, such a theorem is proved without any a priori assumptions about the exact solution. As an example, the theorem is applied to the analysis of a difference scheme corresponding to a given differential splitting scheme.
