The outflow of gas from active galactic nuclei and the dynamics of emission clouds in them
Abstract
The hydrodynamic structure of the wind flowing out from an active galactic nucleus is calculated. It is shown that, in the range of broad line formation, the velocity of the wind reaches a value that is not greater than twice that at the inner boundary. The motion of emission clouds in the outflow envelope is examined, and conditions for the almost total entrainment of the cloud by the wind are established.
