Is epsilon Aurigae a one more white dwarf in the stage of a supergiant mimicry ?
Abstract
The paper discusses the hypothesis that the primary component of the eclipsing system Epsilon Aur is a white dwarf with a very prolonged symbiotic nova type flare. The hypothesis is based on the comparison of the characteristics of Epsilon Aur and PU Vul and the fact that the enhanced brightness of PU Vul during the 1980s is due to this type of flare on an accreting white dwarf.
