A comparative study of length scale equations in turbulent boundary layers
Abstract
Consideration is given to the application of two equation models of turbulence to the calculation of turbulent boundary layers. The study is part of a program to find an optimal scale equation for two equation turbulent models. The general strategy of the program is outlined and preliminary results are presented from the comparisons of various models. A generalized two equation model is defined and test by numerical solution of turbulent boundary layers.
