A discussion of turbulence model by means of LES
Abstract
The Large Eddy Simulation (LES) method is used to simulate a turbulent flow in a two-dimensional channel with fluid injection from one wall. The turbulence model and the resulting flow structure are described. It is suggested that a weak event originating in the core region of the flow passage can make the turbulence vitalize significantly in the whole flow field through pressure. The effect of the vortical structure on the turbulence structure is examined using a Reynolds stress model.
