Fine structure of the solar plasma spectrum in the MG XII 8.42-A resonance line region
Abstract
The solar spectra of the 8.40-8.44 A region have been reconstructed from spectrograms obtained during the Vertical rocket experiments in September 1979, August 1981, and October 1983. The reconstruction procedure used is based on a probabilistic statistical description of plasma radiation and its detection. The spectral lines are identified on the basis of a thermal model of coronal plasma radiation. Plasma temperature estimates are presented.
