Investigation of the rain height impact on the accuracy of attenuation prediction over satellite communication links
Abstract
The impact of the accepted values of rain height on the precision of various models for predicting rain attenuation of radio waves above 10 GHz along different slant paths is examined. The diversity in defining rain height in different prediction methods is outlined. Some results from statistical processing of measured data on the characteristic isotherm heights at several locations are given.
