Assessment of TVD schemes for inviscid and turbulent flow computation
Abstract
Four variants of TVD schemes for inviscid and turbulent flow computations, two with upwind dissipation terms and two with symmetric dissipation terms, have been evaluated. All of the schemes are shown to accurately resolve the shock and flow profiles with fewer grid points than the Beam-Warming (1978) scheme. It is noted that the symmetric schemes converge slightly faster than the upwind schemes, but that the upwind schemes can depict greater insensitivity with respect to the number of grid points employed.
