The Dynamics of M15
Abstract
Radial velocities have been obtained for 110 stars in the classical cusp cluster M15 to study the run of velocity dispersion with radius. In addition, the velocity dispersion of the central cusp has been determined from spectra of the integrated light. The results show a very high central velocity dispersion: 23 km/s, falling to 14 km/s at 15 arcsec from the center and to only 5.5 km/s at 3.5 arcmin radius.
