An analysis methodology for internal swirling flow systems with a rotating wall
Abstract
A Navier-Stokes analysis methodology for calculating the flow through internal flow components with a rotating wall is developed. A novel treatment for the swirl coupling source terms is used to improve equation convergence. Johnston's secant approximation is used to formulated a three-dimensional law of the wall. The methodology is applied to three swirling flow systems and good agreement is found between the calculation results and experimental findings.
