Chemical and physical properties of organic superconductor kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(NCS)2
Abstract
The crystal growth and structure, band structure, transport and magnetic properties of the organic superconductor, kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(NCS)2 are examined. The Tc of the superconductor is 10.4-11.0 K. It is found that the lattice parameters and packing pattern of BEDT-TTF molecules are almost the same to those of kappa-(BEDT-TTF)2I3 salt. The critical temperatures of several BEDT-TTF superconductors are discussed on the basis of the effective volume of one electron for the molecular design of new organic superconductors.
