The problem of the regularization of the proper energy of point vortex dipoles and the intensification of the integral vorticity during the extension of the vortex lines
Abstract
A solution is obtained for the integral vorticity equation in the threedimensional case. The solution corresponds to a strong singularity, namely, the explosive intensification of the enstrophy during the dynamic interaction between two regularized point vortex dipoles. The effect of viscous dissipation on the process is assessed.
