Calculation of the transport properties of polyatomic gases in the case of arbitrary nonequilibrium flow
Abstract
A simple method for calculating the transport properties of polyatomic gases in the Navier-Stokes-Fourier approximation with arbitrary correlations between the frequency of elastic and various inelastic collisions is proposed. It is shown that, without reducing the accuracy, the problem of calculating the transport properties can be reduced to well-elucidated 'limit' problems for various types of flows (e.g., equilibrium and multitemperature).
