The method of potentials in the three-dimensional problem of electromagnetic-wave diffraction
Abstract
The paper examines the diffraction of stationary electromagnetic waves propagating in an infinite horizontally stratified medium; the waves are diffracted by a three-dimensional inclusion. The method of potentials is used to derive a family of systems of two-dimensional integral equations with respect to the inclusion boundary which are convenient for numerical solution. The solvability of the derived equations is examined along with their equivalence to the initial problem.
