XPS and TSD results on the adsorption of CO on the Yb/Ni(100) system
Abstract
The room temperature adsorption of CO on Yb/Ni(100) surfaces formed by depositing Yb on Ni(100) at 670 K is studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and thermally stimulated desorption. It is demonstrated that the presence of Yb leads to partial dissociation of the adsorbed CO and to an increase in the saturation CO coverage compared to Ni(100).
