Evaluation of scintillometer
Abstract
A laser system which measures the atmospheric turbulence by reflecting a laserbeam in a retroreflector, with the transmitter and the receiver placed in the same unit, was constructed. The measuring equipment is described and results achieved are recorded. Before constructing the terminal version of the scintillation counter, certain points must be improved, including: suppression of the fluctuations that occur in high stress; another laser must be tested to suppress interference perturbations; the demodulator must be changed. A more powerful computer is desirable.
