Neutron Brillouin scattering with chopper spectrometers
Abstract
Neutron Brillouin scattering involves measurement of excitations, typically sound or spin waves, at smaller Q values than is currently customary. We outline the kinematic constraints on scattering angle and incident energy and discuss the resolution characteristics of a chopper spectrometer suitable for such studies.
