Some stable Skyrme configurations with B>2
Abstract
We present here a new configuration of the Skyrme field in the topological sector B=4 which appears stable with respect to any decay. This structure is endowed with continuous axial symmetry in mass and baryonic number density. The direction of the pionic field is described by doubling the field corresponding to the polar angle and alternating in the lower and upper semi-space the sign of one component of the field perpendicular to the symmetry axis. Besides numerical results, mathematical considerations support this choice as the actual solution. This kind of configuration is extended to B>4 and gives a stable state even for B=6.
