OneLoop Closed String 5PARTICLE Fermion Amplitudes in the Covariant Formulation
Abstract
The closed superstring 2 fermion  3 boson and 4 fermion  1 boson scattering amplitudes at one loop level are calculated in the covariant formulation. We use the method of Atick and Sen and find that it can be applied to 5 particles without any major difficulties. The amplitudes are shown to have the correct factorization properties at kinematic poles, yielding as residues of these poles the wellknown 4particle amplitudes. The analysis shows, for the first time at the oneloop level, a verification of the supersymmetry properties of the vertices. We also discuss the symmetry properties of the amplitudes as a check of their correctness. The calculation requires some new thetafunction identities and Fierz transformations in ten dimensions which we also prove and discuss.
