Conservation laws, invariance, and equations of gas dynamics
Abstract
The paper examines questions related to the complete classification of elementary types of differential equations of mechanics and theoretical physics. A complete classification would be based on a general theory of mathematical physics. Aspects of this problem are examined in connection with the Galilean and Lorentzian equations of gas dynamics.
