Elementary flare bursts and eruptive plasma diagnostics
Abstract
The deep modulation of hard and X-ray and microwave emission of solar flares with a period of about 10 s is explained in terms of Alfvenic oscillations of a flaring loop. The oscillations are excited during the fast evaporation of the chromospheric material and the upward motion of the dense hot plasma. It is possible to estimate the density and temperature of the eruptive plasma and the mean value of the flaring loop magnetic field on the basis of the pulsation period, modulation depth, a quality of pulsation.
