The interaction between electron fluxes and ionospheric plasma
Abstract
The problem of the interaction of energetic electron fluxes with the lower weakly ionized layer of the earth's plasma envelope (the ionosphere) is studied. The collisional degradation of electrons in the neutral atmosphere with electric fields is considered by means of numerical and analytical methods. The current state of the problem of the collisionless (collective) interaction of electron beams with a weakly ionized plasma is discussed.
