Toward a unified conceptual framework for shear-sense indicators
Abstract
The growing lexicon for shear-sense indicators has created a need for a unified conceptual system of classification. Many common shear structures can be described by linear combinations of two kinematic variables which quantify the relative importance of objects vs foliations in controlling the shear-zone velocity field.
