Single- and multiple-wavelength operation of acoustooptically tuned semiconductor lasers at 1.3 microns
Abstract
Electronic tuning of a 1.3-micron InGaAsP semiconductor laser over a wavelength range of 0.083 microns (83 nm) using an acoustooptic filter in an external cavity configuraion is discussed. Both single- and multiple-wavelength operation were achieved. Chirping modes of the cavity were eliminated by placing a second acoustooptic filter inside the cavity. Linearity of the chirping modes was verified experimentally.
