Absorption of cosmic radio noise and parameters of the distribution of highenergy electrons in geostationary orbit
Abstract
The correlation between cosmic radio noise absorption and the distribution parameters of highenergy (16214 keV) electrons in geostationary orbit is investigated using GEOS2 data for March 6, 1979. Using this correlation analysis, variations of fluxes of precipitating particles with periods of a few minutes are described in the framework of the quasilinear theory of pitchangle diffusion. It is shown that, in the case of the level modulation of the cosmicnoise absorption, the state of the cyclotron instability of the highenergy electrons is characterized by regimes of relatively weak pitchangle diffusion.
