Onsager's reciprocity relations in problems of the kinetic theory of gases
Abstract
Attention is given to the flow of a multicomponent gas mixture in an arbitrary domain. A general method is proposed for choosing the kinetic coefficients for which Onsager's reciprocity relation is satisfied. It is shown that, in order to satisfy these relations in non-one-dimensional problems it is necessary to take into account the heat flux on the lateral surface of the channel.
