New exact solutions of the static Einstein-Maxwell equations
Abstract
Two new magnetostatic solutions to the static Einstein-Maxwell equations, which are important in describing the external gravitational field of a nonrotating star endowed with a magnetic dipole moment, are presented. The solutions reduce to the Schwarzschild solution when the magnetic field vanishes. The solutions describe the Schwarzschild black hole in various magnetic fields, the potential of which coincide at infinity with the classical expression for a magnetic dipole potential.
