Notes on the origin of Hawking radiation
Abstract
It is argued by consideration of the principle of conservation of energy that curvature is the local source of Hawking radiation, at least in a spacetime with spherical symmetry. The formula for Hawking radiation in twodimensional 'spherical' spacetime is given and the renormalized stressenergy tensor of Hawking radiation is computed for a few physically interesting cases.
