Expanding the possibilities of the partial domain method in wave scattering and radiation problems
Abstract
The paper is concerned with the possibility of applying the partial domain method to problems of wave radiation (scattering) by objects whose shape is described by parts of coordinate surfaces belonging to different coordinate systems. Two problems, one dealing with sound radiation by a cylinder of finite height and the other concerning sound emission by a circular disk enclosed in a circular screen, are considered as an example, and it is shown that the method can be efficiently used for this class of problems.
