Spectroscopic Orbits for Symbiotic Stars. II. TX Canum Venaticorum
Abstract
Radial-velocity measurements of the K giant component in the symbiotic star TX Canum Venaticorum are presented. No evidence is found for an extremely eccentric orbit, and a solution with e = 0.16 + or - 0.06 provides the best fit to the observed velocities. The available data indicate that the mass of the hot component is between 0.3 and 0.55 solar and that the orbital inclination is between 20 and 70 deg. The mass of the K giant cannot be measured with any accuracy using available data.
