VLA Observations of the X-Ray Bright Hyades M Dwarfs
Abstract
The nine M dwarfs in the Hyades cluster that were detected as X-ray sources by the Einstein Observatory have been observed with the VLA at 6 cm; only upper limits to the microwave emission were obtained. These new radio data are not inconsistent with conclusions reached in a recent study of BY Draconis variables, namely that radio luminosities are not correlated with X-ray luminosities nor with rotational periods. Unfortunately, comparison of these data with the radio upper limits obtained for stars in the younger Pleiades Cluster sheds no light on the question of the evolutionary dependence of the 6 cm emission.
