Comments on nonlinear dynamics studies in storage rings
Abstract
Nonlinear dynamics of storage rings are discussed. Canonical perturbation theory, resonances, the Hamilton-Jacobi Equations, tracking simulations, explicit canonical integration, Taylor and Lie maps, and differential algebra are topics discussed. Results from the Fermilab experiment E778 which studied nonlinear dynamics in the Tevatron at 150 GeV are presented. (AIP)
