"Normal" main sequence A0 stars of low rotational velocity.
Abstract
A set of v sin i values has been derived in a homogeneous way for all the northern unevolved AO stars which are listed in the Bright Star Catalogue and which are known to rotate more slowly than 40 km/s. The method used for the v sin i measurement employs the FFT algorithm and is designed to make the best use possible of line profiles obtained from photographic spectrograms. It is interesting to notice that, from a first glance analysis of the spectra obtained, the suspicion arises that AO single stars with atmospheric solar composition are very rare or even nonexistent among slow rotators (v sin i of less than 15 km/s).
