Effect of orbit ellipticity on the plane vibrations of a body due to Lorentz forces
Abstract
The effect of orbit ellipticity on the plane vibrations of a shielded body in equatorial orbit in the geomagentic field is investigated analytically. An expression for the main moment of Lorentz forces is obtained with allowance for the shift of the shield center relative to the center of mass and geomagnetic field inhomogeneity within the shield. The effect of orbit eccentricity on the frequency and amplitude of small vibrations of the body is determined. For resonance cases, conditions for the limitedness of vibrations are obtained.
