The dynamics of the atmosphere of Venus.
Abstract
The structure of the Venusian atmosphere is described with attention given to composition, thermal structure, and clouds. Consideration is also given to dynamics, temperature, and the zonal and meridional wind fields. Of particular interest are the quasi-permanent wave modes in the high-latitude regions, in particular the phenomena known as the polar and the polar dipole.
