Results of measurements of CO2 concentration in the atmospheric surface layer over the Antarctic (Data from the Mirnyi Observatory for 1983-1984)
Abstract
A gas-chromatographic technique has been developed for measuring atmospheric CO2 concentration with a relative error of less than 0.006; this makes it possible to observe natural variations of atmospheric CO2 concentration. Measurements performed at the Mirnyi Observatory in the Antarctic showed that the mean atmospheric CO2 concentration was 339.7 ppm in 1983 and 339.6 ppm in 1984. These results agree with data of long-ternm observations at Mauna Loa and at the Amundsen-Scott station at the South Pole.
