Effect of external ionization intensity on the characteristics of a high-pressure Ar-Xe electroionization laser
Abstract
The characteristics of a pulsed electroionization Xe laser, with Ar used as a buffer gas, are investigated in the electron beam current density range 13-1700 mA/sq cm. An optimization of the laser parameters is carried out, and the possibility of repetitively pulsed operation with a mean output power of 0.5-1 kW/l and an efficiency of 2-3.2 percent is demonstrated.
