Velocity measurements downstream of a sudden expansion using LDV. Part 2: Experimental results
Abstract
Detailed laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) measurements downstream of a sudden axially symmetrical expansion, together with a discussion of the experimental uncertainties are reported. Maximum radial and tangential turbulences are 70 % to 80 % of the maximum intensity of the axial turbulence. Compared with other studies of similar geometries, the experimental results are good, and may be considered as a reference for this type of flow and disturbance.
