Mass transport in a parabolic conduit
Abstract
The local concentration for a viscous liquid flowing through a parabolic conduit was determined. The concentration at the parabolic wall was considered constant, as was the initial concentration at the inlet. The liquid flow was considered as creeping flow and its velocity distribution was determined by solving the biharmonic equation of the stream function. The local concentration was evaluated numerically from the analytical results for various parabolic conduits.
