Discontinuous solutions of the linearized, steady state, compressible, viscous, NavierStokes equations
Abstract
The compressible steady state viscous NavierStokes equations in two space dimensions are considered. The equations are linearized around a given ambient flow field. It is shown that the linearized equations are not, in general, elliptic. Jump conditions across a possible curve of discontinuities of a solution of the linearized system are derived. In a particular case, a discontinuous solution of the linearized system is constructed.
