Separation of slow and fast motions in problems of rigid body and gyroscope dynamics
Abstract
A method for the asymptotic separation of fast and slow motions based on the concepts of the Bogoliubov-Mitropolskii integral manifold theory is proposed for the analysis of systems of differential equations with small parameters in the derivatives arising in the solution of dynamic problems. The motion of a gyroscope with a noncontact suspension in a magnetic field is analyzed. The motion separation method makes it possible to reduce this problem to that of analyzing a regular finite-dimensional system of ordinary differential equations.
