Weight of 3d 9 ligand hole configuration as function of oxygen content in YBa 2Cu 3O 6.5+x by joint L 3 XAS and XPS
Abstract
The Cu L 3 edge X-ray Absorption Spectra (XAS) and the X-ray Photoemission Spectra (XPS) of YBa 2Cu 3O 6.5+x as function of oxygen content 0<×<0.5 have been measured. The weight of the 3d 9L configuration characteristic of superconducting samples (i.e. of the charge carriers in the metallic and superconducting phase) increases with x following the change of T c. The electronic structure of the divalent YBa 2Cu 3O 6.5 (considered to be the electronic substrate for charge carriers induced by further oxidation) has been obtained.
